Markets: Mixed Markets last week. S&P500 has third straight upward week.
S&P roller coaster last week: Down a touch, Down, Up, Up a lot, and Down.
Fed Balance Sheet: $6.76 Trillion.
Housing: Existing Home Sales dropped -1.7% in July, but they are up +0.7% Y/Y.
Inflation: Consumer Inflation (the CPI) dropped a tick for the July report, from 3.5% down to 3.4% Y/Y. Wholesale Inflation (the PPI) dropped from 5.5% down to 4.7% Y/Y.
Metals: Gold finished the week at $4,432. Silver finished the week at $65.
National Debt: $39.92 Trillion.
Retail Sales: They were down -0.6% in July, but are up +5.0% Y/Y.

Focus of the week: The Fed Minutes. We’re still trying to understand what how the communications will change, under the direction of the new Fed Chair.
Calendar: Housing Starts, Industrial Production (Tue); the July Fed Minutes (Wed).
Earnings: Some of the companies reporting this week: Deere, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, TJX, and Walmart.
