Markets:  Middle East actions weighed on Markets last week.   

S&P roller coaster last week:  Up a bit, Up, Down, Up, Down a lot.  

Fed Balance Sheet:  $6.677 Trillion.  

Inflation:  Consumer Inflation (the CPI) rose slightly from 2.3% to 2.4% Y/Y.  Wholesale Inflation (the PPI) rose from 2.4% up to 2.6%.   

Jobless claims:  The weekly number came in at 248,000.  The four-week average came in at 240,000.

National Debt:  $36.985 Trillion.  (It’s going up about $28-30 Billion/week.)

THIS WEEK:

Focus of the week:  The Fed Meeting.  The Federal Reserve’s Open Market Committee (the FOMC) meets tomorrow.  Their Meeting statement and Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s press conference will be Wednesday afternoon.  What important:  will be get any timetable for rate cuts?

Calendar:   Retail sales, industrial production (Tue); Fed Meeting statement, Fed Chair press conference, housing starts, and jobless claims (Wed).

Holiday:  US Markets will be closed on Thursday in observe of the Juneteenth holiday.
