LAST WEEK:

Markets:  Lots of Flowers in May.  New Market highs.  

S&P roller coaster last week:  Holiday, Up, Flat, Up, and Up.

Durable Goods:   April DG number was up +7.9% (the consensus was for +2.8%).

Fed Balance Sheet:  $6.704 Trillion.  Down $10 Billion last week. 

GDP:  The first read on Q1 GDP came in at +1.6%.  

Holiday:   Markets were closed last Monday, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Housing:  New Home Sales were down -6.2% in April, and were down -11.3% Y/Y.  Two weeks ago, Starts were down -2.8% in April, but were up +4.6% Y/Y. 

Inflation:  The PCE is the Inflation metric the Fed watches the most.  It rose from +3.5% up to +3.8% Y/Y.  

Metals:  Gold finished the week at $4,593.  Silver finished the week at $76.

National Debt:  $39.315 Trillion.

THIS WEEK:

Focus of the week:  Jobs and Unemployment.  The May Jobs number is expected to come in around 85,000 jobs.  The Unemployment number is expected to remain at 4.3%.  Both numbers come out Friday morning. 

Calendar:  ISM Manufacturing index (Mon); ISM Services index (Wed); and the new Jobs & Unemployment numbers (Fri).
