LAST WEEK:
Markets: September can be a volatile month. Tech was up, while the Dow and the R2000 were down. The S&P was down a touch. A mixed message/result.
S&P roller coaster last week: Down a lot, Down, Down, Up, and Up a lot.
Fed Balance Sheet: It's $6.74 Trillion.
GDP: In the third and final reporting of Q2 GDP, the number rose from +1.5% up to +2.2%.
Inflation: The PCE dropped from 3.7% down to 3.4% Y/Y.
ISM: Their Manufacturing index dropped a tick from 54.6 down to 54.5. A number above 50 implies an economic expansion.
Jobs: Coming off of a 162,000 number in August, expectations were for 85,000 Jobs in September. The number came in at 29,000.
Metals: Gold dropped down to $4,172. Silver dropped a touch to $61.
National Debt: $40.24 Trillion.
Unemployment: The U3 Unemployment number (there are six numbers) went up a tick from 4.1% to 4.2%.

THIS WEEK:
Focus of the week: The Fed Minutes. The Fed’s FOMC raised their interest rate, for the first time in three years, a ¼% (from 3.50-3.75% up to 3.75-4.00%). Just what will the Minutes reveal about this? We’ll find out Wednesday afternoon.
Calendar: The ISM Services index (Mon); The August Trade Deficit (Tue); and the Fed Minutes (Wed).
Earnings: A new Earning Season gets fully underway next week. A few of the companies reporting this week: Delta Air Lines, PepsiCo.
